PARK RULES

THESE PARK RULES SHALL APPLY TO ALL VISITORS OF COALMONT OHV PARK (THE “PARK”), OPERATED BY COALMONT OHV PARK, INC.  IN COLLABORATION WITH THE CITY OF COALMONT, TENNESSEE



1. All Park visitors (including passengers/guests) MUST READ AND SIGN a current waiver, pay fees, and check in at the Park office before entering trail system.  Check-in is required before entering the trail system on each visit (unless fees are paid online and/or a waiver is signed online), or you have a yearly pass. Yearly pass holder waivers are good for 1 year. 

2. All visitors must have their ID with them when checking in.  Park staff can check the ID of any person for any reason and failure to provide your ID will result in non-admittance to the Park.

3. Litter laws are STRICTLY enforced.  Place all waste in an appropriate trash receptacle or “Pack It In, Pack It Out.”

4. Ride on established trails only!  Creating new trails is STRICTLY PROHIBITED!  NO RIDING IN CREEKS OR STREAMS!  No intentional spinning of tires or driving in 2-wheel drive in soft areas!  These rules will be STRICTLY ENFORCED!  You could be banned permanently from Coalmont OHV Park for infractions.  TREAD LIGHTLY.

5. All ATV riders and motorcycle riders must wear Manufacturer required safety equipment.  NO EXCEPTIONS.  Passengers are not allowed on ATVs or motorcycles, except for machines specifically designed to carry multiple passengers.  No aftermarket or homemade seating modifications are allowed.  NO PASSENGERS IN CARGO AREAS.

6. NO ALCOHOL, OR DRUGS OF ANY KIND, ARE ALLOWED ON COALMONT OHV PARK-OWNED PROPERTY.  Anyone found to be under the influence of these beverages or substances could be subject to being banned from the Park and/or local law enforcement.

7. The discharge of firearms is STRICTLY prohibited with the Park.  NO HUNTING IS ALLOWED.

8. Seat belts must ALWAYS be worn while driving in the Park (passengers included), ATV’s and motorcycles excluded.  An approved automotive manufactured restraining device, such as a lap belt or three or four-point harness, is an acceptable seat belt.

9. All operators of off-highway vehicles and passengers should follow the manufacturer’s safe operating procedures.  Proper equipment is necessary.

10. Off-Highway Vehicles (OHV) are to be operated only during established Park hours and in accordance with all Park rules and regulations.

11. Excessive speeds and reckless driving are not permitted.  Please follow posted speed limit signs.     (5 M. P. H. IN TRAILHEAD AREAS) NO SPEEDING, TRICKS, OR ANY TYPE OF UNSAFE OPERATION IN THE PARKING LOT OR GRASSY AREAS.  NO INTENTIONAL SPINNING OF TIRES OR DRIVING IN 2-WHEEL DRIVE IN SOFT AREAS, INCLUDING ESTABLISHED TRAILS!  All persons entering or using the Park shall comply with all posted regulatory, directional signs, and these rules and operate a vehicle in the directional pattern established and marked within the park.

12. EVERYONE RIDES AT THEIR OWN RISK.  Know your limitations and do not exceed the capabilities of your vehicle and your riding/driving ability.  The Park shall not be liable or responsible for damage, loss, or theft of personal property or injury to Park participants.  Further, the Park shall not be responsible for your recovery in the event of breakdown or immobility.

13. DO NOT REMOVE OR DESTROY TREES, SHRUBS, PLANTS, OR ANIMALS.  We want them to remain for everyone to enjoy.  Tree-saver straps MUST always be used during winching and recovery.  NO EXCEPTIONS.

14. NO OPEN FIRES ARE ALLOWED IN THE PARK.  Campsite fires must be kept inside the designated fire rings in the DESIGNATED camping areas.  Fire rings are NOT to be moved.  Do not burn metal or glass in the fire rings.  NO CUTTING TREES FOR FIREWOOD IS ALLOWED!  Gathering of deadfall for campfires is allowed.

15. Any camping at the Park shall be subject to the Coalmont OHV Park-RV and Campsite Rules.

16. Those under the age of 18, must have a consent waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian in the presence of a Park staff member.  All minors must be supervised by a parent or legal guardian.

17. All operators of Off-Highway Vehicles (OHVs) must have a valid driver’s license.  Children under 18, or without a valid driver’s license, must always be supervised by a parent or legal guardian.

18. Be courteous to other drivers and children in the Park.  THIS IS A FAMILY PLACE!

19. All SUVs driven on Park trails must have a fully enclosed metal cab or roll bar protection, functioning safety belts, working four-wheel drive systems, frame-mounted tow hooks that are appropriately rated for the vehicle’s weight for recovery purposes, and must be in good and safe mechanical operating condition.

20. All OHVs must have a functioning spark arrestor and/or muffler.

21. Tire chains are not permitted.

22. Always pack out all trash and fuel containers.

23. NO EQUINES ALLOWED.

24. Cross streams ONLY at designated points or where the trail crosses the stream.

25. Before heading out, always check on trial conditions and any current restrictions or closures.

26. Respect private property.  DO NOT TRESPASS OR ENTER PRIVATE PROPERTY.

27. Respect other users of the trails, including visitors traveling by foot.

28. DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS RIDE AT THEIR OWN RISK.  DO NOT ATTEMPT AN OBSTACLE IF YOU DO NOT THINK YOU OR YOUR OHV IS CAPABLE.

29. Be courteous to Park employees and follow their instructions at all times.

30. Failure to comply with these rules, regulations, and safe operating procedures, can result in being temporarily or permanently banned from the Park, or participating in any future Park activity and events.  No refunds will be given in the event of temporary or permanent bans.

31. All vendors and event coordinators must have Park approval to set up on Park property.  Additional fees may be required.

32. All group leaders, event coordinators, and the like, are responsible for ensuring compliance with all Park Rules and Regulations.

33. YOUR USE OF PARK FACILITIES AND/OR TRAILS SIGNIFIES YOUR AGREEMENT TO COMPLY WITH THESE PARK RULES.  COALMONT OHV PARK RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ADMISSION OR EJECT ANY PERSON WITHOUT A REFUND WHOSE CONDUCT IS DEEMED BY MANAGEMENT TO BE DISORDERLY OR WHO FAILS TO COMPLY WITH POSTED RULES AND POLICIES.

34. You are solely responsible for selecting the trails that are with your riding ability and assume all risks resulting from your trail selection.
